When birth takes place within a safe, supported, compassionate environment, we set the stage for new life to receive the abundance of love s/he deserves at first breath.  As a birth doula, I provide women and families with loving support in having the birth they envision, in whatever form that may be.  There are many options in the choices you’ll make surrounding your birth experience, and my heartfelt intention as your doula is to support you in your vision.  

Each woman’s desires and experiences are different.  I have attended births in homes and hospitals, water births, VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean), natural, medicated, and cesarean births, and attended survivors of sexual abuse, miscarriage, and previous birth trauma.  Wherever your path has brought you from or towards, the support of a birth doula is an empowering and invaluable benefit to any birth environment.  

I am a member of DONA International (Doulas of North America), PALS (Pacific Association for Labor Support), member and volunteer of the UW Volunteer Doulas Program, and own and run my private doula practice, The Sacred Sprout Doula Services.  

I believe deeply that how we are born matters.  The way in which a woman is treated while giving birth remains with her in profound clarity the rest of her life; in this same way, how we are brought into the world has the power to shape our first impressions of living.
