The miracle of a woman's body is truly amazing. I have always been intrigued by the ability to recreate and manifest life.

I received my labor support training with Seattle Midwifery School in 2003. Since then I have completed my certifications with PALS. I am currently a member and referred Doula with Pacific Association for Labor Support. I have also taken various extra classes to increase my knowledge of birthing in acupressure, aromatherapy, massage, and lactation.

I have completed training with Colette Crawford and the Seattle Holistic Center for pre and post natal yoga. I have also received multiple other trainings in the various lineages of Yoga, meditation and breathing/pranayama.

Teaching yoga has been a wonderful chance to help me encourage and guide individuals to a deeper level on the physical, mental and emotional level. I have been teaching various classes pre/post natal, mom and tots, kids and Hatha classes for the past five years. I plan to start midwifery/RN training in 2006.

My other interests and jobs include: professional snowboarder, art teacher (kids ages 4-12), surfing, nature, being active and alive.

As a birth doula I offer:

  • Guidance with positions during labor to suit the mother's changing needs.
  • Support to the partner and mother before, during and after the birth
  • Compassionate listening to the wishes and desires of the family
  • An extra set of helping hands to assist in any way possible. (This list can be endless)
  • Knowledge of birthing, massage, medical interventions and alternatives, etc.
  • Pre and post natal visit are always included and more visits if necessary to ensure support and comfort.
  • To help support the entry of your baby's life in a healthy, safe and loving environment.
  • Compassion, Understanding, Listening, and Support.

I truly believe it is an honor to be present at a family's birth. My goal is to make the experience as supportive and comforting for the new parents and as soothing and loving for your baby's entry into the world.
