I offer women & their partners complete compassion and support through their pregnancy, birth and postpartum. By providing guidance in yoga postures, visualizations, meditations, and breath work I help women to tap into their full strength and potential for giving birth. I strive to create a grounded space for the intuitive process of birth to unfold.  I believe that in a healthy pregnancy little intervention is needed and I provide the most current information available so that women and their partners can make informed decisions.  I am committed to supporting whatever choices a woman and her partner make and to help them have the birth experience that they want.

As a postpartum doula I enjoy helping couples make as smooth a transition  as possible into daily life with their baby. This may mean several different things: cooking, light cleaning, laundry, childcare etc… The list goes on and on!! Most importantly, I help to bring the family unit into deeper connection and this may mean: educating parents on what is “normal” newborn behavior during the first few weeks, providing breastfeeding support and being there when the parents need a break.

Working as a doula for over 3 years and training to become a midwife, I have attended over 30 births.  I have also taught pre and postnatal yoga for 4 years.  I continue my studies by regularly attending conferences, workshops, and retreats. I have had the privilege to work and train with many wise women such as midwives, Jennine Parvati Baker, Gloria Lemay, and Ina May Gaskin. My husband and I live near Gig  Harbor on the Key Peninsula.  Even though I may live far from you, I am happy to travel around the area to be at your birth.  If you have any questions or to set up an interview please email me at: yogakim@hotmail.com.

If we hope to create a non-violent world
where respect and kindness replace fear and hatred,
we must begin with how we treat each other at the beginning of life.
For that is where our deepest patterns are set.
From these roots grow fear and alienation –or love and trust.
