Born and raised in Washington State, I graduated from the University of Washington,  and love the Pacific Northwest.  I've been married for 16 years and stay at home organizing two daughters who are 7 and 10 years old.  Inspired to become a doula upon learning my sister was pregnant, I became passionate about supporting mothers through their amazing journeys of labor and birth.  I’m a mother-centered doula who enjoys hot yoga, boating and skiing.

I believe women are more powerful than even they recognize and with proper labor support each birth experience can become a unique, loving event.  I also understand that despite valiant efforts, laboring mothers manage pain in different ways. My role as a Birth Doula is to offer encouragement and reassurance so women can achieve their birth plans.  Not only am I perceptive to your needs, but also those of your partner, children, and family.  I love welcoming women to motherhood and providing them with numerous resources to support each new passage.  My goal is to make every birth I attend an empowering, positive experience.

Following completion of labor support training at Seattle Midwifery School in 2008, I am currently working towards my DONA International certification. I’ve attended births at home and in hospitals and worked with high risk, IVF and VBAC families as well as AMA, single, and young mothers.  My continuing training includes Breastfeeding Beyond the Hospital Stay, Rebozo and Touch Techniques.  Additionally, I was a PALS Apprentice Doula.    Please visit my website for referrals and to learn how I can ease your transition into parenthood.  Together we can create a positive, treasured memory!
